Here’s the experience of “It’s déjà vu all over again” but with a backup photo to show that the image was recalled from this life, not a previous one.

The color photo is from Habarana (Sri Lanka) from a short trip there last week. The black and white is from near Madison, Wisconsin in 1977. Very much the same look and feel, though the Lankan cattle were less cooperative in arranging themselves for photography. Some of them departed my photo op to look for greener grass nearer the marsh.

For a variety of reasons, editing the over 200 images collected on the short visit to Sri Lanka will take longer than I expected. I wanted to get this pair of photos on the blog before I started the extended work that awaits. This digital realm has eliminated all the darkroom work and the associated smell of chemicals but has moved the editing from the field to the front of a computer screen. We were much more selective when we had to consider sets of 36 or 12 exposures rather than seeing the LCD that says we have several thousand more exposures that will fit on the flash media.
